christmas card club challenge 17 Rita's choice.....Christmas Carols

how the times flies....at last I am away on my holibobs and this is a scheduled post!.....

Wednesday 2 September 2015

Red and White Christmas

I loved this Sue Wilson snowflake background as soon as I saw it.....

I have kept it simple just using red and white matting and layering...the embossing folder is Sue  Wilson's snowflake lattice...last years Filigree poinsettia die with micro beads for the centres....the star spray die cuts are covered in glitter....as is the sentiment which is a tonic die.....a few cosmic shimmer sparkle PVA glue .....
Hope your crafting is going well today.....

Sunday 30 August 2015

using my new Phil Martin paper pads......

my friend Kerry too me over to a new craft shop   the Stables  card emporium in Habrough Lincs and they had been doing some workshops using the new Phil Martin christmas paper pads....they are so pretty I just had to buy them!......

I used 2 different patterned sheets..a strip of white card embossed with Sue Wilson's  swirling holly folder and a bit of iced spruce distress ink to bring out the emboss...all the edges are dipped in cosmic shimmer diamond sprinkles....I used Sue Wilson's Portuguese collection-background to cut the central panel and the backing is the reverse side of one of the papers with double sided adhesive and diamond sprinkles....my first attempt which I did with micro beads ended up in the bin as I used collall all purpose glue to stick it down and it showed through as great wet marks....how does that happen, I left it over night to see if it dried but no it was worse it went brown....so a bit of deconstruction and start again....lesson to self.....
the poinsettia's are heartfelt creations sparkling poinsettia stamps done with white embossing powder on vellum....I used Sue Wilson's star spray and embellished them with Nuvo drops for the berry's...Neptune it matched so well.....and lastly the sentiment is a tonic one....
hope you are having a fun day whatever you are doing......

Thursday 27 August 2015

do pop over to scrappymo's and join in there are always good prizes to win.....

Tuesday 25 August 2015

Heartfelt creations Poinsettia

when I bought my IWIA  pack it came in a lovely pink zippy carry bag and in it there were 4 cards to make in a kit....so here is number 1 ...with a few additions.....

the pieces came stamped and some cut out but the rest is left to your creativity.....ie the colouring ,shaping ect....so I added a couple of extra die cuts, from the holly berry precut stamp set and used the matching die....I used distress ink for the colours, shabby shutters and pine needles, the berrys are coloured with a very old colour box colour....cranberry ,I find getting the colour box ink pads very difficult.....I used a bit of chunky white frantage on the leaves to give a snowy effect....
the papers are from the paper pad and the die cut is from the raindrop and roses collection....lucky I had bought this die as I made a hash of the first attempt and cut the provided die in half..stuck it on  and then found it was too big....and in my attempt to remove it ruined it!....
pleased with the finished card!....
Hope your crafting is going well.......

a birthday card

I treated myself to the Tattered lace Charism  bunny and teddy sets......they are adorable....

I have  used my scan and cut for the card shape....and all the matting and layering....and the balloon shapes...an LOTV  sentiment and the star die is mariannedesignslr 0369....the Tattered lace washing line Happy Birthday die....the teddy has been decoupaged up but its so easy as the die does all the hard work!
